چکیده
Background: The standard of care for surgically resectable disease renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a nephrectomy. Post nephrectomy, these patients are at risk the development new onset chronic kidney or progression pre-existing disease. We aimed to report changes in function who had nephrectomy RCC. Methods: This retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study identified 137 RCC from 1 January 2009 31 December 2017. pre-nephrectomy and post-nephrectomy estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) histological subtype on histopathological analysis resected specimen were recorded National Health Laboratory Services online results platform. All analyses conducted using SPSS (Version 25) significance level was set p < 0.05. Results: After mean follow-up period 26.5 ± 22 months (median = 19 months), patients’ eGFR dropped by 4.82 8.67 ml/min/1.73 m2 (95% CI 3.23–6.41) post-nephrectomy. fall hypertension and/or diabetes (n 63) significantly larger compared neither comorbidities 54; .001; 7.30 8.40 5.19–9.42) 1.93 8.14 0.30–4.15) respectively. Conclusions: decline with mellitus more pronounced than comorbidities. In high-risk patients, measures must be taken prevent limit

Pattern of Change in Renal Function Following Radical Nephrectomy for Renal Cell Carcinoma.
Radical nephrectomy (RN) is an independent risk factor for the development of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in those with renal cell carcinoma (RCC). We aimed to examine the pattern of change in post-operative renal function in patients who underwent RN for RCC over a 3 year period at our institution. We performed a retrospective review of histological and biochemical findings in patients underg...
متن کاملFrequency of capsular invasion and prenephric fat infiltration in renal cell carcinoma after partial nephrectomy
Background and Objective: Nowadays, partial nephrectomy (PN) has specific indications in renal tumors. There are challenges regarding the remaining and seeding of malignant cells after surgery due to increasing tendency to do laparoscopic PN (LPN) and consequently increased manipulation of the surrounding tumor tissue. The objective of this study is to investigate the frequency of renal capsule...
متن کاملLaparoscopic radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma.
PURPOSE To estimate the efficacy of the laparoscopic radical nephrectomy we analyzed the clinical data of our series. PATIENTS AND METHODS One hundred eighty five patients were enrolled in our laparoscopic radical nephrectomy program between July, 1992 and July, 2001. Of the 185 patients, 146 had small renal tumors (smaller than 5 cm in diameter) and 39 had large tumors (equal to or more than...
متن کاملCytoreductive nephrectomy for metastatic renal cell carcinoma.
The incidence of renal cell carcinoma is increasing, with up to one-third of patients presenting with metastatic disease. Combination therapy is used to prolong survival in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma, which carries a poor prognosis. Although two pivotal phase 3 trials have demonstrated the efficacy of immunotherapy after cytoreductive nephrectomy for metastatic disease, for n...
متن کاملOutcome of patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma treated with targeted therapy without cytoreductive nephrectomy.
BACKGROUND Cytoreductive nephrectomy (CN) became a standard procedure in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) in the immunotherapy era. Historically, median overall survival (OS) of patients treated with interferon alpha (IFN-α) without CN was 7.8 months. Median OS in patients treated with targeted therapy (TT) without CN is unknown. PATIENTS AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed records ...
